Wagner Family of Wine: Variety & Richness on Display

October 24, 2025

Wagner Family of Wine is a multi-vineyard, multi-label entity responsible for producing some of the finest reds, whites, and Napa Valley varietals available. The current owner, Chuck Wagner, took over the operation from his parents, Lorna and Charlie Wagner, and the entire founding team has deep roots in the Napa Valley agricultural community, dating back to the 1850s.

The Wagner wine heritage first began with Lorna’s grandparents, immigrants from Germany who homesteaded on Howell Mountain, and Charlie’s great-grandfather, who was an early Napa Valley winemaker who worked at a nearby vineyard. Today, the 100% family-owned company continually innovates new winemaking ideas, and two of their premium Cabernet Sauvignons are among the most sought-after bottles around.

Caymus Vineyards

The flagship vineyard of the Wagner Family of Wine, Caymus Vineyards, was founded in 1972. The low-fertility soils are located in the center of Napa Valley, where they’re tended via dry farming, high-intensity plantings, and keen attention to viticulture details.

Bonanza

Another label under the Wagner Family of Wine is the Bonanza. This label is the accessible and affordable branch of the premium operation and is named for the “bonanza” or wealth of grapes found across the state of California. Made with the same love of traditional wine-making as the other labels, the Bonanza bottles are made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes for the perfect red blend.

From the celebrated Caymus Vineyards to the approachable Bonanza label, Wagner Family Wines continues to represent the heart of Napa Valley winemaking. Their dedication to quality, tradition, and innovation shines through every bottle, whether it’s a Special Selection Cabernet crafted for collectors or a Bonanza blend made for sharing around the table. With over five generations rooted in Napa soil, the Wagner family’s passion for winemaking endures, delivering depth, richness, and unmistakable California character in every pour.
